Plans lodged for aparthotel just minutes from St Paul’s
Plans for the conversion of an office building in the City of London into an aparthotel have been submitted to the local authority.
Developer HubCap’s proposals for 30-32 Ludgate Hill detail the creation of a low-carbon long-stay hotel and a ground floor café.
Dating back to the 1800’s, the building is located a stone’s throw from St Paul’s Cathedral and has formerly been used as a bank.
Urban living developers HubCap, a subsidiary of HUB, submitted the proposals along with architecture firm Holland Harvey. The designs look to re-use the structure of the building to save embodied carbon, with the development targeting BREEAM and WELL certification.
The aparthotel will look to deliver all-electric, net zero carbon living spaces in the busy tourist district.
Developers will now have to wait and see whether the City of London Corporation will give the project the green light.
