Manchester hotel to open after three-year delay
A luxury hotel in Manchester city centre which saw its opening delayed by three years is finally ready to open its doors.
Operated by Kro Hospitality, the 32-bedroom Forty-Seven will open on Friday 18 August.
Taking residence in the Grade II-listed Lancashire House at the eponymous 47 Peter Street, the hotel had originally meant to open its doors back in 2020.
However, disruption caused by the Pandemic pushed the opening date to 2022 and despite an announcement that it would open last summer, Forty-Seven has remained closed since.
The hotel has partnered with Asha’s Restaurant, which sits on the ground floor of the building and will provide room service, breakfast, and food for events.
A bar on the lower ground floor, called The Peterman, will also be available to visitors.
The site, which was originally constructed as a shipping warehouse in 1868, had been vacant for some time and had suffered fire damage leaving the interior in a poor state of repair. It has seen a number of different uses since the 1980s including as an office.
Kro Hospitality also operates the Velvet Hotel on Canal Street nearby to Manchester Piccadilly Station.
