CBRE has appointed investment banker Rishi Bhuchar as chief executive officer of its UK & Ireland advisory business.

He joins from global real estate group Jefferies, where he has served as co-head since 2019, and also leads the firm’s EMEA real estate, gaming and lodging practice.

Prior to joining Jefferies, Bhuchar held senior positions at Deutsche Bank and MGPA Limited. He is a graduate of the University of Nottingham.

Bhuchar will join CBRE at the end of the year, succeeding Ciaran Bird, who CBRE announced in April would be stepping down from his role.

Vikram Kohli, CEO of advisory services at CBRE, said: “We are excited that Rishi will be joining CBRE, he is an exceptional leader who has a deep understanding of capital markets dynamics in the real estate sector. He is the perfect person to head our market-leading team in the UK and Ireland, sustaining our momentum and building on our strengths across the market.”
