The Range and Wilko have released their latest property requirements as the retailers look to ramp up expansion.

Their owner, CDS Superstores – said it is focused on both city centre and out-of-town locations for new stores.

Wilko’s ideal sites will be sized between 20,000 sq ft and 25,000 sq ft for units in shopping centres and town and city centre units, whilst The Range is seeking out-of-town stores sized between 25,000 sq ft and 60,000 sq ft. Freehold and leasehold units will be considered, as well as development sites or joint venture arrangements.

This follows strong growth from the retailers over the past six months, with The Range opening 55 stores as well as and hundreds of in-store concessions.

Antony Darbyshire, CDS head of property, said: “Demand for our retail brands has never been stronger and we’ve been gearing up for growth, investing in our operational infrastructure including our warehousing and transport.

“At a time when other retailers are slowing down, we’re bucking the trend, investing heavily in bringing leading retail experiences to even more communities, and we’re calling on landlords, developers and agents to work with us to unlock the next wave of sites.”
