Bodycare to close all remaining stores
Bodycare is to close the remainder of its stores after collapsing into administration earlier this month.
The retailer’s joint administrators said that although discussions are ongoing with interested parties for its brand and intellectual property, no buyer has emerged for its store estate.
As a result, Bodycare will now begin the programme of shuttering its remaining 56 stores, with all of its outlets expected to close by the weekend.
A shortage of stock and the high cost of running stores are key factors behind Bodycare’s decision to close its remaining shops, administrators from Interpath said.
Nick Holloway, joint administrator and managing director of Interpath, said: “We understand this has been a difficult period and so we want to further express our sincere thanks to Bodycare’s staff who, since day one of the administration, have maintained the strong standards of presentation and customer service that Bodycare was renowned for.
“We will continue to explore options for the company’s assets, including the Bodycare brand, and will provide further updates in due course.”
