The Gym Group looks to accelerate site rollout

The Gym Group has released its latest requirements list as it looks to accelerate its site opening plans.

The gym operator – which currently has 250 sites – is seeking units ranging between 5,000 sq ft and 20,000 sq ft in size in highly visible locations.

Both leasehold and freehold sites are being considered, across various asset types including retail parks, mixed-use developments, car showrooms, and food stores.

Ideal sites will be located within catchments of 20,000 people within a five minute drive time, and have easy access to parking areas or be in close proximity to transport hubs.

This comes as The Gym Group looks to open 50 sites over the next three years. The group said it has a very strong pipeline and is on target to open between 14-16 new locations in 2025.

Savills has been retained to find suitable locations.
