Home Bargains signs for 20,000 sq ft store at Hempstead Valley

Home Bargains is set to open a new store at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre in Gillingham, Kent.
The value retailer has signed a 15-year lease for a 20,000 sq ft ground floor unit, with the store opening in November.
The unit, previously occupied by BHS, has been refurbished as part of a multimillion-pound investment programme by the landlord into Hempstead Valley. The South Mall entrance has also been enhanced, incorporating new signage featuring koi carp imagery – a homage to the centre’s original 1980s water feature.
Phil Fishwick of letting agent GCW said: “Home Bargains’ arrival underpins our commitment to creating a vibrant destination for shoppers and tenant partners alike, further galvanising Hempstead Valley’s status within the regional retail hierarchy.”
Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre comprises 425,000 sq ft of retail and hospitality space with 2,160 car parking spaces. Major retailers at the scheme include Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencer, TK Maxx, JD Sports, New Look, Boots and Superdrug.
