Dockside at Chatham Maritime expands F&B offer with two signings
Dockside at Chatham Maritime has welcomed food and beverage operators Bakers + Baristas and YouMeSushi after both agreed long-term leases at the Kent waterside destination.
The operators have each signed 10-year leases at the mixed-use scheme, adding to a food and drink offering that includes Zizzi, Wagamama, and recent arrivals McDonald’s and Sotto Lounge.
A specialist in coffee, cakes, and pastries, Bakers + Baristas has opened a 1,750 sq ft unit within Dockside. Since forming in 1981, the operator has now expanded to open over 60 stores across the UK and Ireland.
Meanwhile, YouMeSushi has taken a 721 sq ft unit as the growing chain looks to continue its UK expansion, offering a variety of sushi dishes to Medway diners.
Located just over 30 miles from Central London in the Medway region of Kent, Dockside at Chatham Maritime forms part of a 300-acre waterfront regeneration zone, featuring historic dockyards, an independent distillery, and a marina. It also sits opposite St Mary’s Island, a new 5,000-home residential community.
Peter Everest, managing director of Chatham Maritime owner WD Ltd., said: “The arrivals of Bakers + Baristas and YouMeSushi alongside the recent openings of McDonalds and Sotto Lounge continues our vision of being a vibrant, modern mixed-use business, retail and leisure hub. Both of these new operators enhance our waterfront leisure experience bringing more variety and choice as we look to cater for this fast-growing community of businesses, students, residents, and visitors. We are delighted to welcome both brands as we continue to evolve and expand our tenant offering.”
