Craft beer giant Brewdog could be sold off after its leadership called in restructuring experts to seek new investors.

The Scottish brand – which operates approximately 60 bars in the UK alongside its breweries – has drafted in consultants from AlixPartners to oversee a sales process.

The company said it had taken the decision in order to focus on the company’s “long-term strength” amid a “challenging ecconomic environment.

A spokesperson for Brewdog said: “Following a year of decisive action in 2025, which saw a focus on costs and operating efficiencies, we have appointed AlixPartners to support a structured and competitive process to evaluate the next phase of investment for the business.

“This is a deliberate and disciplined step with a focus on strengthening the long-term future of the Brewdog brand and its operations.”

Brewdog said it expects to attract “substantial interest” and that it is business as usual for its breweries and bars.

This comes after Brewdog announced the closure of 10 bars across the UK, including its flagship in Aberdeen.

Last month, the company also halted the production of its gin and vodka brands at its distillery in Aberdeenshire in a bid to streamline its businesses.
