Christie & Co has appointed Tom Glanvill as head of leisure brokerage, as long-standing director Jon Patrick retires.

Tom Glanvill has been at Christie & Co for almost a decade and has held the position of head of garden centres since 2023. In his new role as head of leisure brokerage, Glanvill will look to accelerate the growth of Christie & Co’s leisure activity, with a continued focus on residential and holiday parks, marinas, visitor attractions, and wider leisure subsectors.

Tom Glanvill said, “I am thrilled to step into this role and to work with the wide variety of dynamic and interesting leisure businesses we support. Jon has delivered outstanding work over many years, and I am now looking forward to building on the fantastic platform he has created.”

This appointment comes as Christie & Co’s head of leisure and development Jon Patrick retires after 42 years at the company. He joined Christie & Co as a graduate in the Leeds office in 1984, initially establishing himself in the pub and restaurant sectors before helping to establish the company’s Newcastle office in 1987, before moving to the firm’s London head office. Over the last 25 years, Patrick has been at the forefront of the Christie & Co’s leisure and development team and has been responsible for national and international assignments including a number of high-profile transactions.

Jon Patrick said: “I have literally grown up at Christie & Co, having spent two thirds of my life at the company, and during this time I have witnessed phenomenal change across the entire leisure and hospitality industry. I have had the good fortune to work on some fantastic assignments in my time, with some equally exceptional clients and mentors. However, it is the quality of the colleagues I’ve worked with at Christie & Co over the years, and their ability to consistently deliver results of the highest calibre for our clients, that I shall remember fondly and be most proud of.

“Thankfully, I know I leave the business in very good health with some exceptional younger talent, and so I look forward to watching from the sidelines to see their progress in the coming years.”

Steve Rodell, managing director of retail and leisure at Christie & Co, added: “Jon has been an impeccable ambassador for Christie & Co, turning his hand to anything out of the ordinary with consummate ease and competence. It has been a privilege to work with Jon, and we have all learnt a lot from him. Whilst it will be sad to see him go, he leaves a lasting legacy and our leisure brokerage business is being left in very safe hands. I am very excited to see what heights Tom can reach over the coming years.”
