IKEA opens ‘Plan and Order Point’ at Dundee retail park

IKEA has opened a ‘Plan and Order Point’ at Kingsway West Retail Park in Dundee, Scotland.

The retailer’s Plan and Order Points are dedicated to kitchen, bedroom, and living room planning and allow customers to visit for tailored design consultations to help design their home spaces. Customers can book a free appointment with one of the Dundee store’s planning specialists or use the in-store self-service tools to design their own solutions.

Within these stores, customers can order from the entire IKEA product range, with the option for next day collection or home delivery. There is also a collection area for orders made online, as well as a service for customers wanting to return any purchases.

Kevin Coventry, market manager at IKEA, said: “We are thrilled to open the doors to our first-ever IKEA Plan and Order Point in Dundee. This new space is designed to inspire our customers, where they can explore our unique kitchen ranges and smart storage solutions. This is the perfect place to discover IKEA’s diverse range of affordable home solutions, with something for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”

The opening forms part of IKEA’s wider UK expansion strategy. Last year, the retailer opened seven new UK stores – two city centre stores on London’s Oxford Street and in Brighton, two new Plan and Order Points in Hull and York, and three new-format small stores in retail park locations in Harlow, Norwich, and Chester.

The opening of the Dundee store will increase the retailer’s presence in Scotland, with existing IKEA stores in Edinburgh and Glasgow and a new Plan and Order Point coming to Aberdeen.
