The Gymnastics Academy is set to open its first site in Scotland at GRID Braehead in Glasgow this summer.

The new 4,000 sq ft unit will offer parent and toddler gymnastics and ballet to the local community, further strengthening GRID’s family-focused leisure mix. The operator has developed an exclusive afternoon session programme for the location, responding to strong demand in pre-sale sign-ups.

The addition forms part of GRID Braehead’s ongoing strategy to diversify its occupier line-up with experience-led, complementary brands, with the aim of enhancing dwell time and reinforcing its position as a leading leisure and dining destination in the region.

The Gymnastics Academy adds to GRID’s existing mix of leisure and dining options, including Paradise Island Adventure Golf, Climbzone, Laser Station, Fun Station, Gravity, Tenpin, IMAX Odeon, TGI Fridays, Five Guys, and Nando’s.

Bruce Harley, centre manager at GRID Braehead, said: “We’re delighted to be selected as the first location for The Gymnastics Academy in Scotland. This addition strengthens our family-focused proposition and supports our strategy to deliver a well-balanced, experience-led offer that drives both footfall and repeat visitation from across the catchment.”

Lauren Burke, head of service at The Gymnastics Academy, added: “Launching our first Scottish site at GRID Braehead marks a significant milestone for the business. We prioritise high-footfall, family-focused destinations, and Braehead’s strong mix of complementary operators creates a true one-stop environment for families. This location supports our long-term growth ambitions, and we’re excited to build a strong presence within the scheme and the local community.”
