ASOS appoints interim CFO as it looks to bounce back
ASOS has appointed an interim chief financial officer (CFO) as it looks to build a stronger leadership team, following a difficult Christmas period.
The online fashion retailer has appointed Sean Glithero until a permanent replacement is found. He will take the role in May following the departure of Katy Mecklenburgh.
Glithero has worked in finance for 28 years, including for 10 years as a CFO, and has led financial functions at businesses such as Auto Trader, Funding Circle Holdings and, most recently MatchesFashion.
In January, the retailer reported a difficult festive trading period which saw a fall in revenue of 3% and a dip in UK sales of 8%. In the report ASOS’s CEO spoke of “necessary strategic and operational changes”.
The latest appointment reflects what online retailer says is its strategy of building a strong leadership team with greater depth in critical areas.
ASOS says it has now filled 75% of roles in its leadership team across a number of areas.
