Aldi to expand London estate with £40m investment
Aldi is set to expand its London estate this year with a £40m investment into eight new stores.
The expansion targets areas within the capital and Greater London, with new stores planned in Hanworth, Willesden, Watford, Marble Arch, Hoxton, Orpington West, Epsom, and Stepney Green.
In addition, existing Aldi stores in Enfield and Kilburn will also undergo refurbishments this year.
This comes after the discounter opened a number of new stores within the M25 in 2025, including in Wimbledon, Fulham Broadway, Shoreditch, Caterham, Uxbridge, Old Kent Road, and Kentish Town, alongside an extension in Colindale.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know household budgets are still under pressure, and too many Londoners don’t have an Aldi within easy reach. These new stores will bring our unbeatable value to more families while creating around 200 new jobs across the capital.”
The expansion forms part of Aldi’s wider investment in Britain, with the retailer set to invest over £370m in opening new stores across the UK this year.
