Alo Yoga to open first store outside London on Manchester’s New Cathedral Street

Activewear brand Alo Yoga is set to open its first UK store outside of London on Manchester’s New Cathedral Street.
The brand has signed a 10-year lease for a 7,018 sq ft unit, and will join recent arrivals Arc’teryx and Represent on the luxury shopping street.
Founded in Los Angeles, Alo Yoga looks to blend technical excellence with contemporary fashion, offering a collection of performance and lifestyle apparel for both women and men.
Located opposite the Manchester Arndale shopping centre, Sovereign Centros from CBRE act on behalf of M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual as joint asset managers of New Cathedral Street, which home to brands such as Harvey Nichols, Zara, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, and Ralph Lauren.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Welcoming Alo Yoga to New Cathedral Street underlines its reputation as one of the UK’s premium retail destinations. As demand continues to rise for premium lifestyle brands beyond London, Manchester’s strong demographics and cultural energy make it a natural choice for growing brands.”
Scott Linard, portfolio director for M&G Real Estate, added: “Alo Yoga is a fantastic addition to our retail mix. We’re proud to support the growth of innovative brands like Alo Yoga who are seeking high-quality, well-located space to connect with new audiences. Their arrival highlights the strength and diversity of Manchester’s retail offer.”
Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are New Cathedral Street’s retained letting agents.
