America’s largest hot dog chain hungry for UK entry
The largest hotdog quick service restaurant (QSR) chain in the United States is eyeing a move across the pond, as it seeks franchise partners for its UK debut.
Wienerschnitzel, which operates over 320 restaurants in the US, said it is seeking international partners “to go global”.
The brand appeared at the International Franchise Exhibition in London earlier this year, and will exhibit at the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham in October as looks to bring the concept to the UK, which it describes as a ‘priority market’.
The family-owned company, which was founded in 1961 in California by John Galardi, says it serves over 120 million hot dogs annually.
Wienerschnitzel said its “flexible store designs, superior training, strong leadership and consumer demand make it an attractive opportunity for investors and QSR operators”.
The restaurant’s menu include chilli dogs, corn dogs, chilli cheese fries, drinks, and desserts.
Wienerschnitzel is looking to recruit area development partners with experience in quick service restaurant operations, access to prime commercial real estate, and the sufficient capital to fund the venture, which would be in the range of £20,000 to £50,000.
