Another 10 Wetherspoon pubs head to market
JD Wetherspoon has placed another 10 pubs on the market, as the chain continues to trim down its estate.
Agents from CBRE and Savills have been appointed to find suitable buyers.
The freehold pubs are all located in town and city centre locations in England and Wales and are being put up for sale either individually, in groups, or as a portfolio.
The pubs included in the sale are:
- The Pontolottyn in Abertillery, Gwent
- The Ivor Davies in Cardiff
- Spa Lane Vaults in Chesterfield
- The Gate House in Doncaster
- The Market Cross in Holywell
- The Regent in Kirkby, Ashfield
- The Mock Beggar Hall in Moreton
- The Sir Norman Rae in Shipley
- The Hain Line in St Ives
- The White Hart in Todmorden
Also included in the package is The Sir Daniel Arms in Swindon, which was already on the market.
Paul Breen, director at Savills, said: “These substantial and well invested pubs are likely to appeal to a broad range of potential buyers.”
Toby Hall, senior director at CBRE, added: “The pubs are all in long established and proven trading locations making them ideal for both existing pub operators and new entrants”.
In July, JD Wetherspoon said it had sold, closed, or surrendered 28 pubs in the financial year-to-date, while only opening three, as it looked to deal with a £688m debt.
Of the previous Wetherspoon pubs being marketed by CBRE and Savills, 15 out of 23 are currently under offer.
