Arc’teryx picks Manchester for first UK store outside London

Arc’teryx has chosen Manchester for its first store in the UK outside of London, opening opposite the Arndale Centre.
Situated at New Cathedral Street, the store will open this summer and will become the outdoor brand’s fourth location in the UK, joining stores in Covent Garden, Piccadilly, and Battersea Power Station.
Arc’teryx offers a range of technical gear, footwear, and accessories across a number of activities including trail running, climbing, hiking, and skiing.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Arc’teryx has become a hugely popular brand among younger shoppers, so we are delighted it has selected New Cathedral Street as its first UK store outside London.
“Its arrival highlights the continued demand we are seeing from leading brands keen to expand out of London, with Manchester becoming the next step on their UK expansion plans thanks to its growing population and strong consumer spend.”
Scott Linard, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, added: “The arrival of Arc’teryx further enhances New Cathedral Street’s reputation as the home of premium brands in Manchester.
“Over the past few years, we have been proud to welcome growing brands such as Arc’teryx and Represent seeking high-quality, well-located physical retail space outside London. With our strong customer base and reputation as the go-to fashion destination in the North West, we look forward to welcoming more new brands to Manchester.”
