Bowling operator Superbowl UK has reached an agreement with asset and investment management firm Catella APAM to open at the Mander Centre in Wolverhampton.

Taking a 15-year lease, Superbowl UK will occupy approximately 17,000 sq ft of space on Victoria Street.

The new venue will feature 12 bowling lanes, a soft play area, interactive darts, a bar and diner, and a SEGA arcade.

The deal – which was facilitated by the Mander Centre’s joint letting agents Jamieson Mills and Jackson Criss – looks to play a part in transforming Victoria Arcade and the recently-pedestrianised Victoria Street into a vibrant leisure destination within the Mander Centre.

The agreement is expected to complete in Q1 2025 and includes an estimated £500,000 of landlord works to be completed by Catella APAM’s retrofit and principal contracting business, Vantage.

Harry Wilce, asset manager at Catella APAM, said: “Securing Superbowl UK as a tenant represents a significant achievement in our strategic vision for the Mander Centre and the City of Wolverhampton.

“This development will not only enhance the leisure offerings in the city centre but also serve as a catalyst for further investment in the area.”

Councillor Chris Burden, City of Wolverhampton Council cabinet member for city development, jobs and skills, added: “This commitment shows great confidence in our city centre, which is seeing a huge amount of investment. Superbowl UK’s exciting plans to bring this empty retail space back to life further delivers on our vision for City Centre West and shows how high streets are changing and adapting.”
