British Land launches Broadgate Central with 90% of retail and leisure space under offer
British Land has announced the launch of Broadgate Central, the City of London’s latest retail, dining, and leisure destination.
Located within British Land’s Broadgate Campus, the scheme spans 120,000 sq ft across the ground and lower ground floors of 1 Broadgate and 100 Liverpool Street, and is already 90% let or under offer.
Recent signings at the scheme include luxury florist Moyses Stevens, social entertainment concept Poolhouse, Salad Project, Irish-American freehouse The Horseman, Townhouse nail salon, and Eton Shirts.
They will join a number of fashion brands already announced for the scheme, including Moss, Mango, Luca Faloni, Hobbs and Whistles, as well as beauty and lifestyle brands such as Boots Fragrance, Molton Brown, Strip, and Murdock London. These retailers will be complemented by a food and beverage offering that includes Sandwich Sandwich, Sushinoya, Vagabond, NOTTO To Go, Läderach, and Maison Ladurée.
Kelly Cleveland, head of real estate and investment at British Land, said: “Broadgate Central redefines the City’s retail and leisure scene, bringing together leading brands in a vibrant, accessible destination.
“The strong leasing momentum across the campus, with only one floor of office space available, increasing footfall throughout the whole week, and office utilisation back above pre-Covid levels mid-week, reflects the benefits of our campus model and Broadgate’s enduring appeal.”
Tom Sleigh, chair of the City of London Corporation Planning and Transportation Committee, added: “Major employers and brands are reinforcing their commitment to the City of London as the destination of choice, in part, thanks to the outstanding public realm, retail and hospitality offer that developments like Broadgate Central are delivering. This is why we have seen a 7% rise in footfall into the City this financial year and are expecting further increases in the years to come.
“The City of London is more than just a business district, it’s a destination, offering world-class hospitality, culture, leisure and amenities designed for how people live, work and connect in the 21st century. With its abundance of green spaces, net zero ambitions and low-carbon developments, the City is sustainable and focussed on wellbeing at its core.”
The wider Broadgate development is home to 289,000 sq ft of retail, hospitality, and leisure space. The new arrivals join the likes of Eataly, Los Mochis London City, Everyman, Monica Vinader, Tommy Hilfiger and Space NK.
