Merry Hill welcomes Slim Chickens

Merry Hill in Dudley has welcomed the arrival of Slim Chickens, as the fried chicken restaurant opens the first of three sites this month. Spanning 5,229 sq ft, the two-storey restaurant will be able to accommodate up to 160 guests and will offer a range of Southern-inspired flavours. The opening follows the recent announcement that outdoor recreation retailer Cotswold Outdoor has signed for a triple fascia store at Merry Hill, alongside sister brands Runners Need and Snow + Rock. Nick Round, senior asset manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, on behalf of Merry Hill, said: “The opening of Slim Chickens’ underscores Merry Hill’s ongoing investment in its F&B options, complementing the vibrant line-up in the recently transformed leisure quarter. Womenswear brand to open second store outside of London at Liverpool ONE

British womenswear brand House of CB is set to open its second store outside London at Liverpool ONE, making its city debut. The brand – which has a large online and social media presence – will be taking a 6,500 sq ft space on Peter’s Lane. House of CB at Liverpool ONE will offer a range of occasionwear, catering to events such as race days and weddings. The brand will join an existing line-up of premium retailers on Peter’s Lane, which includes Space NK, Jo Malone, Reiss, Anthropologie, and ARNE. Amsterdam-born menswear brand picks Chelsea’s Kings Road for UK debut

Amsterdam-born menswear brand MR MARVIS has signed for its first UK store at 52 King’s Road in Chelsea. The brand, known for its collection of shorts, trousers, and tops, will be entering its fourth market and its first outside of continental Europe when it opens in London at the end of summer. Originally an online-only brand, MR MARVIS has been working with real estate advisor Savills to focus on its bricks-and-mortar expansion, with the Chelsea store becoming the brand’s 19th globally. As the brand’s third-largest online market, the United Kingdom – especially London – was selected as the next location for MR MARVIS, as the retailer looks to expand its presence across the region. Laurie Stokes, director in central London retail and leisure at Savills, which advised MR MARVIS, said: “Securing a site on King’s Road marks a significant milestone in MR MARVIS’ ambitious expansion plans. Canada Life sells Richmond retail investment for £3m

Canada Life Asset Management has completed the sale of a retail property in Richmond-upon-Thames for £3m. The property, located at 2-6 Hill Street and 2 Red Lion Street, is leased to Waterstones until January 2030 and produces an annual rental income of £172,500. The asset – which spans a total area of 6,179 sq ft across three floors – was sold at a 20% premium to the £2.5m asking price, reflecting a net initial yield of 5.23%. Nearby retailers and operators include Søstrene Grene, L.K. Bennett, Wagamama, Pizza Express, ODEON, The Ivy, Five Guys, M&S, Barclays, and Zizzis. The property is also situated opposite Sheen Lane’s 90,000 sq ft mixed-use redevelopment of the former House of Fraser department store. TW Keil advised Canada Life Asset Management on the sale.

Trio of international brands commit to Sheffield’s Meadowhall

Meadowhall in Sheffield has secured new leases with a trio of international brands, with Oliver Bonas set to join the scheme and AllSaints and Tommy Hilfiger recommitting to the destination. Oliver Bonas will be taking a 3,590 sq ft space opposite Flannels for its largest store in the North. Opening this summer, the store will feature the brand’s full range of fashion, accessories, homeware, and gifts. Meanwhile, fashion retailer AllSaints has relocated on Meadowhall’s Upper Level High Street, moving into an updated 3,252 sq ft store. On the scheme’s Lower Level, adjacent to the incoming Oliver Bonas store, Tommy Hilfiger will be refitting its 2,462 sq ft store. The new space will stock menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear. Jewells to roll out stores at four Hammerson destinations

Jewells is set to open four new stores in partnership with Hammerson, as the fast-growing jewellery retailer looks to expand its brand across the UK. The retailer will open at Westquay in Southampton and The Oracle in Reading at the end of May, with further openings at Bullring Birmingham and London’s Brent Cross due in June. Each store will extend to around 1,000 sq ft and will showcase Jewells’ range of demi-fine jewellery, which uses materials such as gold, silver, lab-grown diamonds, and semi-precious stones. They will also host bespoke consultations and workshops. Hammerson said the signings demonstrate the continued ‘flight to quality’ trend and its ability to partner with brands to support their growth. Anthropologie fashions North West debut at Liverpool ONE

Anthropologie is set to launch its first-ever store in the North West of England at Landsec’s Liverpool ONE shopping centre. The fashion brand has agreed to take a 7,000 sq ft flagship space on Peter’s Lane, which will house a range of womenswear, footwear, accessories, and homeware. Rob Deacon, asset management director at Liverpool ONE – Landsec, said: “2025 is a year of huge momentum at Liverpool ONE. Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand to make UK debut on Regent Street

SKIMS, the underwear, loungewear, and shapewear brand founded by Kim Kardashian and entrepreneur Jens Grende, is set to make its UK debut on London’s Regent Street. The brand has signed a 10-year lease with The Crown Estate for a 12,000 sq ft unit at 245-247 Regent Street, with the store due to open in summer 2026. SKIMS will join a number of other global fashion retailers and luxury brands on Regent Street, adding to the destination’s mix of retail, entertainment, dining, and lifestyle brands. The Crown Estate said the signing also reflects its long-term ambitions to carefully curate diverse retail and leisure offerings in the West End. Nobody’s Child to make Northern debut at Victoria Leeds

Nobody’s Child is set to open its first store in the North of England at Redical’s Victoria Leeds, marking the womenswear retailer’s second store outside of London. The 1,400 sq ft space will be the brand’s fifth location, joining its stores in Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, Spitalfields, and the recently opened St Albans location. Nobody’s Child will join a line-up of existing British brands at Victoria Gate, including Mint Velvet, COS, Whistles and The White Company. Glasgow convenience-led scheme fully let following new signings

A convenience-led shopping scheme in Glasgow is now fully-let following the signing of five new tenants by centre owner M Core. M Knightswood has signed a five-year lease with Scottish-Cuban eatery Yas’ Café, which has agreed to take a 1,020 sq ft unit. Meanwhile, tanning salon Malibu has agreed to take a 1,090 sq ft space on a 10-year lease. Also joining M Knightswood is Speed Queen Laundromat, which has taken a 15-year lease, and VPZ vape, which has signed a five-year deal. The fifth and final tenant is Family Shopper, which will open in a 1,962 sq ft unit. The scheme, which spans 65,063 sq ft, has a total of 26 retail units and is anchored by a 20,500 sq ft Tesco store. Alex Williams, asset manager for M Knightswood, said: “We are delighted with the recent success of new lettings at M Knightswood, which means that the scheme is now fully let. The strong demand demonstrates the desirability of the scheme and convenience retail generally. Sports memorabilia brand opens debut flagship store on Regent Street

Fanatics Collectibles, a specialist in licensed sports memorabilia and trading cards, has opened its first permanent flagship space at 54 Regent Street in London. The 8,500 sq ft store was opened at the end of April, with seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton cutting the ribbon alongside Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin. The store offers a range of special edition sports memorabilia, collectibles, clothing, and trading cards along with a social media and podcast studio, designed to offer fans a premium, interactive shopping experience. Paul Souber, head of Colliers’ Central London retail team, which advised the landlord, said: “We are thrilled to have played a role in bringing Fanatics to this landmark location. Regent Street’s global retail status made it a natural fit for the brand’s flagship debut. Jewellery brand to make Northern debut at Eldon Square

Jewells, a jewellery brand from the creator of Lovisa, is set to open a new store at Eldon Square in Newcastle. The brand – which was founded by Brett Bundy and is aimed towards a young female audience – will be arriving at Eldon Square at the end of May for its first and only site in the North of England. The 1,000 sq ft store will be located next to Molton Brown and join six other Jewells locations opening on 30th May. It will offer a range of jewellery items, while offering services such as piercing, tattoo, and styling services. The announcement comes amid a number of leasing developments at Eldon Square over the past 12 months, including the opening of Sephora and the announcement of leisure attractions Flight Club and Freight Island.
