Asda to open nine convenience stores in one week
21st October 2025 Asda is to ramp up the expansion of its convenience estate this week with the opening of nine new Asda Express stores, including seven in London. The retailer said the openings reflect its ambition to strengthen its presence in high-footfall urban areas, residential neighbourhoods, and transport hubs. The new London stores will open this week at Tower Bridge, Greenwich, Limehouse Station, Harringay, Deptford, Whetstone, and the former Arsenal FC club shop at Finsbury Park station. Outside of the capital, the retailer will also open stores in Southampton and Stoke, bolstering its presence across southern and central England. Asda Express stores offer ambient and chilled groceries, alongside beers, wines and spirits. Additional services include Costa Coffee machines, ATMs, Amazon collections and returns, and on-demand delivery options through the likes of Uber Eats, Just Eat, and Deliveroo.
