Claire’s to appoint administrators in the UK and Ireland

Claire’s is set to appoint administrators in the UK and Ireland, putting the future of its 278 stores in doubt.
The fashion accessories chain – which is owned by its former creditors Elliott Management and Monarch Alternative Capital – has appointed Interpath to assess its options, which could include a sale of the business.
Interpath were previously appointed by the retailer last month as it looked to find a potential buyer.
This comes as the chain struggles with increasing debts, including a £355m repayment due to be repaid in December 2026, and follow’s the brand’s bankruptcy filing in the US earlier this month.
All of Claire’s UK and Ireland stores will remain open during the administration process.
