Clay shooting bar fires off third site at Birmingham’s Piccadilly Arcade

9th January 2025 | Jack Oliver

Clay shooting bar concept Clays has opened its third location and its first outside of London at Birmingham’s Piccadilly Arcade.

The operator has taken a 25-year lease for the venue, which spans 12,000 sq ft over three floors and has a capacity of 500.

The venue on New Street joins Clays’ existing locations in London’s Canary Wharf and The City.

Clays Birmingham houses two bars, traditional shooting pegs, private hire rooms, a DJ booth, and a new ‘Clays Arcade’ area for a fast-paced experience for smaller groups.

Piccadilly Arcade is one of Birmingham’s most historic retail and leisure destinations. It originally opened as a 600-seat cinema in 1910, before its auditorium was turned into an arcade of shops, linking New Street and Stephenson Street. It is currently home to a range of independent retailers including Shepherds Barbers, Piccadilly Opticians and Faculty Coffee.

ETCH. acquired the venue on behalf of Clays, and has been instructed to seek further sites. Wright Silverwood acted for the landlord Hortons’ Estate.
