Clip ‘n Climb opens 14,000 sq ft space at Gloucester Quays
Clip ‘n Climb has opened a 14,000 sq ft family climbing venue at Peel Retail & Leisure’s Gloucester Quays.
The venue features 19 unique climbing walls alongside a number of challenges, as well as a soft play area for younger visitors and a café.
The opening of Clip ‘n Climb follows a year of growth for Gloucester Quays. In 2025, the outlet centre welcomed a number of new brands including Søstrene Grene, Ben Sherman, Label Yard, and Men Kind, with total centre occupancy currently standing at 96%.
Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure, said: “Clip ‘n Climb brings something we’ve always wanted at Gloucester Quays. With the padel courts and a gym around the corner, we have brought together three leisure uses that cater to all the fun and fitness needs of our community, whether they’re visiting for an hour or a day. Having adrenaline-filled climbing within the centre gives families, groups of friends, and enthusiasts another reason to come to Gloucester Quays, acting as a real point of difference within the city.”
The opening follows Peel Retail & Leisure’s announcement of strong trading performance at Gloucester Quays over the Christmas period. The centre recorded a weekend footfall spike, averaging a 15% year-on-year increase across the seven weeks up to Christmas, and benefitted from sales growth in homeware and gifting, which increased by 66.3%, alongside menswear which was up by 31.2%.
