Cornish Bakery has opened its first site of 2025 in Cirencester, as the artisanal bakery chain lines up a further six openings in the near future.

Following this latest opening in the Cotswold town, the operator – which now has 66 bakeries across the UK – has announced that it has six more properties in legals with the locations to be announced in the near future.

Cornish Bakery is also implementing a major refurbishment project in five key tourism locations. Across three months, this investment will see bakeries in Totnes, Swanage, Bude, Fowey, and Sidmouth receive refurbishments and increased seating capacities in the run-up to Easter.

This comes after a record-breaking 2024 for the operator, which during the second half of the year reported a 9.7% like-for-like sales increase at existing bakeries, a 26% increase in total sales, and six new openings. The brand capped the year off with a new opening in Milton Keynes in early December, its most-successful launch yet.

Cornish Bakery Managing Director Mat Finch says, “The second half of 2024 saw a flurry of new openings in Nottingham, Taunton, Winchester, Chelmsford, Milton Keynes and Cirencester, and now we are completing on five major refurbishments.  It has been so rewarding to witness the customer appetite and enthusiasm for our brand.  We’ve currently got another six new bakery locations lined up and will be announcing these soon.  Alongside our constantly rising sales and team engagement figures, this all means that 2025 is going to be an exciting year for us.”
