Flying Tiger returns to the North East at Metrocentre
Flying Tiger Copenhagen is set to make its return to the North East with an opening at Metrocentre in Gateshead.
The variety retailer has taken a 3,600 sq ft unit on the ground floor of the scheme’s Green Mall, opposite Boots.
The Danish retailer currently operates almost 1,000 stores across 25 countries and stocks a range of products including homeware, accessories, and stationery.
Flying Tiger’s letting follows a number of new openings at the Gateshead scheme, including Hobbs, Rowen Homes, Moda in Pelle, Skopes and Apricot.
Metrocentre is also set to welcome Zara, Flannels, and Sports Direct.
Mike Burke, managing director of Flying Tiger, said: “Opening a store back in the North East was always a priority for us and Metrocentre is the perfect location. Our customers have asked us to return to the North East since we moved out of the city centre, we listened and have found the right location. Our focus is now on a number of key shopping centres in Manchester, London and Liverpool.”
