Frasers Group submits global HQ plans
Frasers Group has lodged plans to create a new global headquarters in the West Midlands, with the move expected to generate around £300m in gross value added.
Should the proposals be approved, this would mean a move from the retail giant’s current headquarters in Shirebrook in Derbyshire to Ansty in Warwickshire.
The House of Fraser and Sports Direct owner’s new campus would include offices, logistics, research and development, a hotel, and leisure facilities including a gym and bookable courts and pitches.
The development has been designed by Grimshaw, the firm behind the Eden Project, London’s Excel Phase II, and the Lloyds Banking Group headquarters, and is expected to create 7,500 jobs.
A spokesperson for Frasers Group said: “We have worked closely with local partners to develop proposals for a global headquarters campus at Ansty.
“This would deliver a well-located, world-class platform to further bolster our elevation strategy, sector-leading ecosystem and growth ambitions.
“A planning application has now been submitted and we will continue to work with our partners through the planning process.”
