Harlequin Watford cooks up Pan-Asian restaurant opening

7th January 2026 | Jack Oliver

The Harlequin shopping centre in Watford is set to expand its food and beverage offering with the addition of Pan-Asian restaurant brand Chop Wok Express.

The restaurant will offer the brand’s core menu – including ‘build your own’ wok, alongside bao buns and Korean chicken tenders. The January opening comes as the concept continues to grow into a multi-location chain.

Chop Wok Express joins an existing lineup of food and beverage operators at Harlequin, occupying a total of 70,000 sq ft, including Joe & the Juice, Popeyes, and Chaiiwala, with further brands set to join the line-up next year.

Rob Jewell, managing director of asset management at Pradera Lateral, said: “Chop Wok Express perfectly complements the range of brands and leisure operators at Harlequin – bringing a new, and highly desirable, type of cuisine to our curated offering. Our town centre location makes Harlequin the perfect place to grab a bite to eat in the evening, and alongside our range of entertainment brands including Cineworld and Puttshack, brands like Chop Wok Express elevate our evening appeal even further.”
