Haven and JD Wetherspoon toast exclusive partnership
Haven has partnered with JD Wetherspoon to operate an on-site pub at one of its holiday parks.
The first JD Wetherspoon pub at a Haven Park will open at North Yorkshire’s Primrose Valley in March, following a £1.1m investment.
The agreement means that Haven will become the UK’s only holiday park operator to enter a commercial partnership with the chain, which operates over 830 pubs in the UK and Ireland.
Haven said it has already invested £170m in its parks over the past year, with the latest partnership forming part of a £4m investment to expand its food and beverage offering in 2024. Big names the operator has already collaborated with include Burger King, Papa Johns, Slim Chickens, Costa Coffee, Millie’s Cookies and Chopstix.
Peter Blake, chief operating officer at Haven, said: “We are thrilled to be the first holiday provider to partner with one of the UK’s leading and much-loved pub operators. This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday homeowners.”
Michael Barron, commercial director of Wetherspoon, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Haven and are confident that the pub will prove popular with holidaymakers.”
Blackstone-owned Haven said it has already invested over £410 million in its parks since 2021 with a commitment to upgrading and modernising all holiday sites.
