Holland & Barrett upsizes Chichester store
Holland & Barrett is set to upsize its Chichester store after signing for a new unit on the northern side of East Street.
The health and wellbeing retailer has agreed a deal for a 3,000 sq ft Grade II-listed at a rent of over £120 per sq ft.
The property was originally let in the summer of 2023 to Black Sheep Coffee, however the coffee shop chain never fitted the store out. Black Street Coffee then negotiated to surrender its lease before a deal was agreed with Holland & Barrett.
Holland & Barrett has been trading on North Street for many years and are one of a number of occupiers that have decided to upsize or improve their position in Chichester.
Flude Property Consultants, which completed the letting on behalf of the landlord, said the retail market in Chichester over the past 12 to 18 months has been positive, with strong occupier demand and rents increasing from their rebased levels following the Pandemic.
Sebastian Martin, director at Flude Property Consultants, said, “We have found over the last 12 months a notable improvement in the quality and type of occupiers who are looking at vacant space in the city. There has been some good rental growth, which is evident in this letting. We are confident that these trends will continue into the next year and the outlook for retail generally is positive at the moment”.
