Home decor retailer to open first retail store on Chelsea’s King’s Road

Home decor retailer Graham & Brown is set to open its first physical retail outlet at 187 King’s Road in London’s Chelsea.

Having previously traded online-only, the fourth-generation family business has signed a 10-year lease for a 1,102 sq ft unit within Martin’s Properties’ portfolio. The unit forms part of a larger holding for Martin’s Properties from 183 to 209 Kings Road, which the family business acquired in 1988.

The store, which opens on Wednesday, will offer a range of wallpaper designs, paint, artworks, soft furnishings, and textiles.

Brook Stotesbury, head of commercial asset management and investment at Martin’s Properties, said: “Following a growing trend of online retailers setting up a physical presence on the high street, this established retailer can now benefit from further brand visibility and customer interaction to showcase their quality products, taking advantage of an excellent local neighbourhood catchment. The deal also underpins that omnichannel retail strategies that adapt to changing consumer habits will continue to be the winners of the sector.”

Iona Graham of Graham & Brown added:Opening our flagship London showroom on the King’s Road marks a significant milestone for the brand, and we’re delighted to be bringing Graham & Brown to one of the most iconic roads in London in this exciting new chapter in our brand story. Our flagship showroom embodies our design-led philosophy, offering customers the chance to experience the quality of our products firsthand, supported by our expert in-store team.”
