JD Sports to upsize at Glasgow’s Braehead

JD Sports is set to upsize its store at Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow.

The retailer will expand its presence by a third when the new store – which will be located on the destination’s lower level and extend to 18,000 sq ft – opens in 2026.

The expansion comes as a response to strong demand from shoppers, and will enable to retailer to showcase a wider selection of athleisure, footwear, accessories, and sportswear products for men, women, and children.

JD Sports’ enhanced space will feature the brand’s latest store concept, with dedicated product zones, immersive experiences, and a wider selection of global names, including Montirex, Nike, Adidas, The North Face, and Under Armour.

The brand’s expansion follows a series of recent lettings and investments at Braehead Shopping Centre, including the recent arrival of MINISO and Flying Tiger Copenhagen.

JD’s upsize follows the recent launch of of Braehead Ambition – the strategic partnership between Braehead Shopping Centre, XSite and Braehead Arena. Reporting to a board comprised of SGS UK Retail, TDL Media and XPE Group, the asset management and operational team – which includes Pradera Lateral, Savills, BWP Group, Lunson Mitchenall, BGP, and Metis – will look to add value for visitors, retailers, and operators.
