JLL capital markets boss appointed as UK chair

6th March 2026 | Jack Oliver

JLL has appointed its head of UK capital markets Andrew Frost as chair of its UK business, effective from 31st March.

Frost joined JLL in 2011 as part of the King Sturge acquisition and has spent the last six years leading UK capital markets. In his role as chair, he will look to focus on partnering with clients to build solutions that bring the JLL’s UK capabilities to their businesses.

Andrew Frost said: “Becoming chairman of JLL UK is a phenomenal opportunity and I am excited to get started. I will focus on three of my passions – building and sustaining client relationships, bringing them the right team from across JLL and cultivating the next generation of leaders. We are positioned for strong growth with a track record of delivering in market conditions that require exceptionally broad and deep global expertise. JLL is more joined-up and accessible than ever, and I’m excited to bring these capabilities to new and established clients across the UK.”

He is succeeded by the incumbent head of central London markets at JLL, Julian Sandbach, who will continue to service investment clients in London while also leading the UK capital markets business. Sandbach has been with JLL for 18 years and has advised on many of London’s high profile and complex transactions over a three-decade career working in capital markets.

Julian Sandbach said: “Leading JLL’s capital markets business in the UK is an immense privilege. I will focus on growing JLL’s leading position in UK investment markets by bringing together our technology-led insights and real-time analytics, to give our agents the strongest possible foundation on which to advise clients. We are seeing growth once more across sectors, and whilst challenges remain, there is a sustained feeling that capital markets have turned the corner following retrenchment in 2022 and that we now have a significant opportunity to accelerate growth as markets expand again. I’m honoured and excited to lead this phenomenally knowledgeable and creative team in harnessing their sector and product specific skills to serve clients seeking innovative advice to execute their strategies.”

John Woodger takes over leadership of the central London capital markets business, alongside his role as head of city capital markets which he has held since 2022, having joined JLL as a graduate in 2010.

Matthew Richards CEO of JLL UK and head of EMEA capital markets, added: “We are privileged to have established business leaders of exceptional calibre and pedigree within our organisation and our ethos of nurturing talent across our business means that we can deploy expertise where it best serves our clients. Andrew and Julian have been pivotal in shaping the JLL we see today and have much to do as we continue to provide exemplary advice. Together with John, they will drive our business as market conditions continue to improve and partner with clients as new opportunities arise – all of which requires the best advice and insights to realise potential.”
