Landsec has lodged plans with Portsmouth City Council for the third phase of its proposed £45m revamp of Gunwharf Quays.

The group – which owns the Gunwharf Quays outlet centre – is looking to transform the Eden nightclub into a family-friendly dining destination.

The proposals also include improvements to existing façades and the installation of a large digital screen at Central Square.

If approved, the work is set to begin in next spring.

Earlier this year, Landsec was given the go-ahead from Portsmouth City Council for the second phase of the investment into Gunwharf Quays. The proposals for the second phase focus on Marlborough Square, one of the scheme’s main points of arrival.

Yvonne Clay, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, said: “This submission marks another key step in our long-term investment in Gunwharf Quays.

“We’re focused on enhancing Gunwharf Quays so it remains an attractive place for people to visit and helps us bring even more of the best brands and best-in-class dining experiences for guests to enjoy.

“Through these plans, alongside our continued sustainability efforts and strong local partnerships, we can continue to create value for Portsmouth’s people, economy and surrounding environment.”
