Sovereign Centros has announced the opening of sports and fashion headwear and apparel store Lids at Merry Hill.

The 935 sq ft store is the retailer’s first in the West Midlands, and caps off a busy 2022 for Merry Hill which has seen over 175,000 sq ft of deals secured in the calendar year.

Included in this are retailers such as Ted Baker and Kurt Geiger, who took new stores in the destination.

Hollywood Bowl has also secured a 36,000 sq ft space set to open in summer 2023.

Some existing brands have also committed to renewals and refits, with H&M, Beaverbrooks, and HMV undertaking refurbishments in 2022.

Lids specialises in jerseys and headwear, and offers in-store custom embroidery for its hats and apparel.

Alistair Winning, asset manager at Sovereign Centros, commented: “The tenant mix at Merry Hill has evolved significantly in the last 12 months, exemplified by the addition of Lids. […] The strength of Merry Hill is also showcased by the sheer volume of lease renewals and store refurbishments this year; we are proud of the work we have done with our existing tenants to enhance the visitor experience here, as we continue our proactive approach into 2023.”

JLL and Time Retail Partners represent Merry Hill.
