Independent Merseyside-based coffee chain Bean is set to relocate and resize at Liverpool ONE.

The brand will upsize to a 4,361 sq ft space on College Lane, and is due to open in May.

Having launched its initial pop-up at the scheme in 2021, the announcement marks the brand’s second upsizing at Liverpool ONE within the space of a year.

The new café will have space to accommodate up to 150 guests over two floors and will feature dining and co-working spaces. As well as coffee, Bean will offer a selection of fresh sandwiches and ice-based drinks.

The new site will also aim to integrate the brand’s sustainability strategy, by committing to an eco-conscious supply chain and ensuring the use of recyclable and biodegradable coffee cups. Liverpool ONE says that these measures are in line with the scheme’s environmental, social, and corporate governance values.

Bean’s upsize follows recent the announcement that Sweaty Betty is set to make its regional debut at Liverpool ONE, while sportswear brand Under Armour recently launched its first brand house at the scheme.

Rob Deacon, senior asset manager at Grosvenor, said: “It’s been a pleasure for Liverpool ONE to play a role in the local success story that is Bean and to have had the opportunity to not only support their growth operationally, but also their impact environmentally. The brand’s continued recommitment to the destination is reflective of the supportive environment we strive to cultivate, and we are excited to see the brand continue to go from strength to strength in its new College Lane location.”
