Evolve Estates, part of M Core, has acquired a food-anchored convenience centre in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

Carters Square serves as the primary retail provision for the town, which is located centrally in Staffordshire, 17 miles east of Stoke-on-Trent and 14 miles north-east of Stafford.

The centre comprises 15 units across 68,241 sq ft, with anchor tenants including Asda, Home Bargains and Costa Coffee. It is also home to a large car park.

Danny O’Keefe, founding partner and director of Evolve Estates, said “Carter Square is another asset aligned with the company growth plans. As we continue to strategically focus on targeting convenience led centres, parades and malls, this acquisition maintains our commitment to supporting local communities throughout the whole of the UK. We will be looking to engage with local residents and stakeholders over the coming months.”

A regeneration master plan for Uttoxeter town centre is set to move forward to this year, which includes the redevelopment of the centre, the co-op building, and the nearby council-owned bus station and car park. Under the plans, a mixed-use scheme will be developed, with residential, retail, and leisure uses.

Bradley Maher at Cited Property acted for Evolve Estates, whilst Alistair Bird at Knight Frank acted for the vendor.
