Macron signs at Gloucester Quays ahead of Summer of Sport activation
Italian sportswear brand Macron has signed for a new store at Gloucester Quays, ahead of the destination’s Summer of Sport activation.
The retailer is set to take a 2,200 sq ft unit adjacent to Jack Wills and All Saints, joining a sports and activewear line-up at Gloucester Quays, including the likes Puma, Asics, and Adidas.
The signing strengthens Macron’s ties with the city, having been Gloucester Rugby’s technical kit partner and retail partner since the start of the 2025/26 season. It also operates the Macron Sports Hub at Gloucester Business Park.
Macron’s signing comes as Gloucester Quays prepares to welcome a series of activations and event initiatives in the coming weeks and months, with the yearly Summer of Sport screening returning this summer. World Cup 2026 matches, Wimbledon, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, The Masters, 2026 Commonwealth Games, 2026-27 UEFA Women’s Champions League will all be shown on a big screen at Pillar & Lucy Square, surrounded by Gloucester Quays’ bars and restaurants.
Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure, said: “The signing of Macron is reflective of Gloucester Quays’ appeal to activewear brands, and its Gloucester Rugby partnership showcases the importance of local sporting heritage to the destination and its operators. Macron arrives at an ideal time too, with the Summer of Sport activation set to bring in sports fans from across the city, driving engaged footfall and creating opportunities for our well-aligned retail and leisure line up.”
Ross Cook, senior technical sports marketing manager of Macron, added: “Macron’s arrival at Gloucester Quays is a natural next step, building on our strong connection with the city’s sporting community and the destination’s commitment to offering leading sportswear apparel and lifestyle ranges. As a secondary official retail store of the iconic Gloucester Rugby and Gloucester Hartpury collections, this store will provide supporters and fans with an exciting new way to engage with both clubs. We’re also looking forward to connecting with even more fans through the upcoming Summer of Sport event and becoming an integral part of the vibrant sporting culture at Gloucester Quays.”
This news follows the announcement of four brands having recommitted to Gloucester Quays, with Le Creuset, Jack Wills, Holland & Barrett, and Cornish Bakery signing to remain at the outlet.
