Mango arrival marks fruitful period for Touchwood

Spanish fashion retailer has arrived at Solihull’s Touchwood Shopping Centre, adding to a number of retail signings at the scheme in the last year.

Arriving at a 5,250 sq ft unit on the ground floor, Mango has signed a 10 year lease with Touchwood owner Ardent UK alongside asset manager Sovereign Centros.

It joins a number of new retailers at the scheme including Polestar electric cars, TAG Heuer, Miele, and Rituals, all of which arrived in the last 12 months. Other existing retailers at Touchwood include Zara, Goldsmiths, Next, River Island, and John Lewis.

Since acquiring the scheme in the summer of 2021, Ardent has secured over 80,000 sq ft of new lettings and lease renewals, with the centre occupancy rate now above 96%.

Joe Swindells, development director at Ardent UK, said: “Our strategy for Touchwood is entirely focused on bringing the very best retailers and dining options to Solihull, with Mango’s arrival representing yet another string to the centre’s bow. The strength of trading and footfall demonstrates the success of our approach”.

Ardent says both footfall and trading in the 2022 Christmas season were above pre-Pandemic levels.

Ardent and Sovereign Centros were advised by Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank.
