Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield has welcomed the arrival of South Yorkshire-based vintage clothing retailer Glass Onion.

The zero-waste fashion business has opened a 3,000 sq ft pop-up store on Lower High Street.

Founded in 2006, the retailer processes up to 20,000 kgs of second-hand clothing every week to produce 12,000 garments a month. Each piece of clothing produced and sold by Glass Onion was originally set to head to landfill.

Candice Birch, commercial property solicitor at Mason Thomas Law, which acted for Glass Onion, said: “I am delighted to have played a small role in helping Glass Onion achieve its expansion on the high street. They’re an ongoing success story which we’re very proud to be associated with.”

Dan Green, Glass Onion director of finance and operations, added: “With special thanks to Mason Thomas Law for such a quick turnaround and for being so reactive. We really appreciate the support and service they have given us throughout this process.”

Mason Thomas Law also acted for Glass Onion in securing its store on Division Street, Sheffield, which opened in October 2023.
