M&S opens 83,000 sq ft flagship store at Bath’s SouthGate
Marks & Spencer has opened the doors to its 83,000 sq ft flagship store at British Land’s SouthGate shopping centre in Bath.
The new store – relocated from M&S’ previous location on Stall Street – spans four floors and offers the retailer’s fashion, home and beauty, and food ranges.
The ground floor features a 14,000 sq ft market-style foodhall, including a flower shop triple the size of the previous offer. A new bakery and coffee counter also offers takeaway hot and cold drinks, alongside a range of bread and pastries.
Above, the fashion offer is spread across three floors, with click-and-collect and travel money located on the first floor. The store also features a new 1,600 sq ft beauty hall, while the top floor will offer a curated homeware collection.
The store also includes a 140-seater M&S Coffee Shop awaits, with a menu of breakfast and lunch options available.
Bath SouthGate is one of over 20 new or renewed stores M&S is launching across the UK in the second half of this financial year.
Laurence Budden, senior asset manager at British Land, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marks and Spencer to SouthGate Bath; they are the perfect addition to our strong line up and further enhance the mix for our visitors. SouthGate’s prominent city centre location and strong transport links create a compelling offer, and with this the scheme is now fully let.
“This opening is a great way to start a transformational year for SouthGate, building on other recent openings, including Sunglass Hut, Zara and Rituals, with more exciting news to come.”
