Paris Baguette is aiming to open 200 UK stores by 2036, as part of its wider target of reaching 450 European sites.

The Korean café chain, which is owned by Seoul-based conglomerate SPC Group, is hoping to reach its ambitious growth plan via franchise partnerships.

Having already opened two sites in the Capital at Battersea Power Station and Kensington High Street, the chain is forecasting further growth into Greater London in 2024 and is expecting to launch 20 UK stores by the end of the following year.

Paris Baguette UK’s chief operating officer, Nico Gaillot, said that the company is “confident” it will become a favourite for UK bakery lovers.

The chain, which was founded in 1988, already has a presence in over 4,000 stores globally, with outlets in France, the United States, Canada, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, as well as South Korea.

Its expansion in the US is of particular note, having entered the market in 2005 and launching a franchising scheme 10 years later. Paris Baguette now anticipates opening 60 new stores and signing 130 franchise agreements to reach a total of 180 US outlets.
