Revo Village & Conference: What will retail and leisure spaces look like in 2034?
New research revealing what retail and leisure spaces could look like in 2034 is set to be revealed at this year’s Revo Village & Conference.
Commissioned by Revo (formerly the British Council of Shopping Centres) and conducted by Trajectory, the study – which involved over 30 sector experts and academics – will present three different future scenarios for retail and leisure a decade from now.
These scenarios include a ‘core scenario’, which will depict the most likely developments, as well as ‘wildcard’ and ‘alternative’ scenarios that consider less probable but still impactful possibilities.
The findings will be presented by Tom Johnson, managing director of Trajectory, before a debate with industry leaders including Ojay MacDonald, chief executive of ATCM, Sam Cotton, head of asset management and leasing at Battersea Power Station, and others.
This panel will provide reflections on the research conclusions, offering perspectives on the topic of ‘The Innovations Driving Thriving Retail and Leisure Places in 2034’.
Vivienne King, Revo board member and conference host, said: “This research uncovers what may be possible by moving us from focussing on past and current trends in developing our business projections, to building alternative scenarios of the future. Whilst we can’t experience the future, the dynamic changes we are already seeing in our markets require us to uncover the possibilities and speculate on their implications for each of us, if we are to be equipped for the innovations demanded by the thriving markets of 2034.”
The Revo Village & Conference is being held at Completely Retail Marketplace in London’s Old Billingsgate on 24 September.
