Sainsbury’s set to welcome Greggs cafes
Greggs has announced its plans to establish standalone cafés within several Sainsbury’s stores by the end of this year.
The plan involves launching around “half a dozen” new sites in collaboration with the supermarket, featuring both in-store “coffee-style operations” and concessions at Sainsbury’s garages. These cafés will be operated by Greggs and will further expand upon their existing partnership with Sainsbury’s.
This move builds upon their previous venture in May, where they joined forces to open a concession within one of Sainsbury’s petrol stations located in Bedfordshire.
Greggs has also expanded its reach by partnering with other supermarket chains like Tesco and Asda, having introduced seven new locations within Tesco stores earlier in the year.
These upcoming openings are part of Greggs’ broader strategy to establish 150 net new stores by the end of 2023.
