Saltrock surfs into West Yorkshire’s Junction 32

Surfwear retailer Saltrock is set to open its first store in West Yorkshire at Castleford’s Junction 32 outlet shopping centre.

Opening on July 20th, the 1,900 sq ft store will look to serve as a hub for surf enthusiasts, beachgoers, and outdoor adventurers, offering a range of apparel and accessories for men, women, and children.

The outlet centre is riding the wave of the increasing popularity of surfing in the UK, with sales of surf wear fashion also seeing a boost.

The signing builds on the recent opening of Sports Direct and the expansion of Mountain Warehouse at Junction 32. Saltrock’s arrival reflects the scheme’s strategy of introducing brands which cater to current fashion trends and consumer demand for wider sports apparel.

Rachel Scott, head of leasing at Global Mutual, said: “Welcoming Saltrock is a really important moment for us – we watch shifts in consumer trends carefully and have seen the rise of surfing, cold water swimming, van life and festival-going. Saltrock speaks directly to this movement, and we really see a place for this vibrant brand at Junction 32.”

Louise Rees, head of retail at Saltrock, added: “This location is perfect for us to connect with new customers and engage with the outdoor sporting community here and beyond. We look forward to being a part of the J32 family and bringing the spirit of Saltrock to Yorkshire.”
