Shaftesbury Capital brings Kricket Indian restaurant to Covent Garden

3rd April 2025 | Jack Oliver

Shaftesbury Capital has signed Indian restaurant Kricket for a new site within its Covent Garden estate in London.

Opening in Neal’s Yard within Seven Dials later this year, the 4,000 sq ft restaurant will accommodate over 130 diners and offer a blend of modern and Indian-inspired flavours.

Kricket will join Neal’s Yard’s existing line-up of restaurants including Story Cellar, The Barbary, and La Compagnie, as well as specialist concepts such as Neal’s Yard Dairy and St. JOHN Bakery.

It also joins food and beverage concepts within the wider Seven Dials area, including Balthazar, SUSHISAMBA, and Ave Mario.

Emma Matus, head of restaurant leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, said: “Covent Garden is already home to the city’s best dining concepts, and the addition of Kricket, with their take on Indian cuisine that blends Indian flavours with London’s culinary creativity, will complement this line-up. The signing is among the first of many new dining options set to be introduced to the destination this year, as we get ready to bolster Covent Garden’s high calibre offer with new, unique and diverse concepts.”

This announcement follows the news that French-Japanese fusion brand Café Kitsuné is set to open in the Seven Dials neighbourhood this spring at 55 Monmouth Street, with the operator opening its second-ever UK location.
