Søstrene Grene looks to double UK store estate by 2027

Søstrene Grene is planning to double its UK store footprint over the next few years, with the Danish homewares retailer targeting 100 stores nationwide by 2027.
The retailer has already confirmed that it will be opening stores in London’s Canary Wharf, Harrogate in Yorkshrie, and Stirling in Scotland this summer.
This comes after Søstrene Grene opened its Oxford Circus flagship in March, its fifth store in the capital.
The expansion plans form part of a wider strategy from the retailer, which is planning to open 60 new stores globally in 2025.
Mikkel Grene, Søstrene Grene CEO and co-owner, said: “Customers in the UK have responded incredibly positively to the Søstrene Grene concept.
“We continue to see strong footfall, high levels of engagement, and real appetite for new locations – even in areas where other retailers are pulling back. It gives us confidence not only to expand, but to do so in a way that supports and complements local high streets.”
Founded in 1973, Søstrene Grene now operates over 330 stores across 17 European markets. The retailer specialises in homewares, furniture, kitchenware, and hobby products.
Grene continued: “We’re making long-term investments because we believe in the continued relevance of physical retail – especially when it delivers a meaningful customer experience and emotional connection.
“We see an opportunity to bring something different to the UK high street, at a time when fresh thinking is needed.”
