Ten Entertainment Group (TEG), the owners of entertainment centres Tenpin, has said it expects four new sites to be developed and open in 2023.

The group, which operates 48 centres across the UK, also revealed that it had had a highly successful 2022 which saw a total sales growth of 87.6% compared to 2021.

Like-for-like (LFL) sales growth against 2021 was up by 5.5%. The group added that LFL sales against pre-pandemic levels was higher by almost 40%.

TEG invested in 11 centres in 2022 with six refurbishments and five bowling upgrades.

Tenpin offers laser arenas, escape rooms, karaoke, arcades, pool tables, soft play, and food and beverage on top of its core bowling experience.

“The Group has delivered its strongest ever trading performance in FY22, the first undisrupted financial year of trading since the pandemic began in March 2020. It is expected that profit for the 2022 financial year will be at the upper end of market expectations”, TEG said in its financial report.

It added: “Our pipeline of new centres is healthy. There were two new centres opened in 2022 and we are excited that at least four more centres are expected to be developed and open in 2023. We are focused on growth opportunities in the UK where we have a proven model which combines a high-quality entertainment experience with value-for-money.

Graham Blackwell, chief executive officer of TEG, said: “We have been rewarded by strong sales growth compared to 2019, bucking the trend in UK hospitality and leisure and have even managed to grow against our record-breaking second half of 2021.”
