The Local Footfall Accelerator launches
What does it take to boost your local footfall in 2021?
Here at SaveTheHighStreet.org we’ve been studying this question from all sides, with input from successful local independents and industry experts on our High Street Advisory Board.
There are hundreds of things that can be done by every high street business… And almost as many again by councils, BIDs, landlords and community champions.
This week, we are launching a range of new support to help local independents increase their footfall through this critical Christmas trading period and beyond.
We call it the ‘Local Footfall Accelerator’ and it’s currently free for ambitious retailers, restaurants, salons, cafes, traders, pubs, galleries, laundrettes, boutiques, bakers, makers and other local independents, from startups to scale-ups, in the U.K.
The Local Footfall Accelerator is delivered through Jo by SaveTheHighStreet.org.
Jo (JoinJo.com) is our unique business support platform, designed from the ground up to help small and startup local businesses achieve their potential.
From shop windows to online marketing, local collaborations, geo-targeted ads, festive events and much more. You’ll find it all in Jo.

SaveTheHighStreet.org has also partnered with a range of Local Authorities, BIDs and landlords to provide targeted support for their local independents and stimulate footfall for their high streets, markets and shopping centres. Local Footfall Accelerator programmes delivered alongside partners are currently launching in Basingstoke, Rushmoor, and other places around the UK.
This is the most important Christmas trading period in the history of the high street and footfall will be a key part of the success equation. Let’s make it count!
Beyond our focus on footfall, here at SaveTheHighStreet.org we are working on a range of other initiatives to transform and strengthen this market.
At the Completely Retail Marketplace London on September 28th 2021, we chaired a series of panels related to other key challenges and opportunities for the high street, from repopulating vacant units to navigating fragmented ownership, collaborating across public/private sectors and more.
If you’d like to discuss anything related to success on the high street, we’d love to hear from you.
